Meet our new consecrated Melissa Kuhn
My name is Melissa Kuhn and I was born in Indianola, Iowa, U.S.A. I studied biology and theology at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas where I met the consecrated of the Regnum Christi Movement for the first time. It may seem that my two majors were somehow “opposed” to each other, but in fact they helped me to understand more fully the truth that the human person is a body and soul unity and that spiritual illnesses are far more dangerous than physical ones. I graduated in May of 1998 and was consecrated that same year in August. After studying three years at Mater Ecclesiae College in Rhode Island, I began my first full-time apostolate in Monterrey, Mexico as a formator for the consecrated women who were in their college studies. I returned to Rhode Island in 2002 continuing to be a formator for consecrated women studying at Mater Ecclesiae College. In 2004 I went to Santiago, Chile as an assistant of formation at Everest Preschool. My mission was to work hand-in-hand with the 400 families of the school in the formation of their children as well as in their own formation as spouses and parents. I also was responsible for the spiritual formation of the 60 teachers at the school as well as the directive team. Being a “native born speaker”, I also helped the school with its bi-lingual program (Spanish and English). I arrived to Oxford, Michigan this past December to begin my mission in the married women’s section in Detroit and the surrounding areas. I am very happy to have the opportunity to accompany Rachel Anne during her time in Calgary. I will assist her in Clear Water Academy with the activities for the girls’ formation as well as in her work with college students and married women.
